How This Course Works

Welcome to Dynamic Spanish Trips!

With this course you can practise your Spanish speaking and listening skills while learning about Spain and experiencing its cities, villages, landscapes and festivals.

Whether you're a beginner, intermediate or advanced Spanish speaker, there's loads here to help you on your language learning journey.

How do I access the VR Trips?

Different headsets have different set-up instructions and functionality. We will email any paid students with instructions - please check your spam.

  • Oculus Quest users will access the 360 video and gallery Trips through our Demo VR app on App Lab. You can find out how to use the VR app, including our AI speech recognition and other features, in the next lesson.
  • Oculus Go users will access the Demo app via SideQuest. Find out how to use SideQuest here.
  • Mobile VR users will be given access to the 360 video Trips via the Vimeo app. The 360 video Vimeo links and gallery trips are available in these online modules.
  • PCVR users (Rift, Vive, etc) will receive a separate email within 24 hours of signing up, giving them access to the VR app. Apologies for this delay to our PCVR friends.
  • All users will be able to access the Trips in this online course, for use on mobile, desktop, or tablet. Further instructions for using VR and Dynamic Spanish can be found here.
  • Paid users who have upgraded to unlock all the Trips will be sent a separate email with a unique code to access even more Trips.

The free demo of this course contains four Trips (three video, one gallery). A further 35 Trips are available in the full course, which you can sign up for here.

How does the course work?

In the app, we recommend downloading a Trip before you watch it, for smoother play-back. While you wait for each Trip to download, you can do the quizzes to warm up before you immerse yourself in the experience.

Gallery Trips include Spanish sentences with each 360 scene. We advise that:

  • Students work through the gallery Trip, listening to and repeating each sentence as you go.
  • Use the speech recognition to practise your pronunciation, intonation, and fluent repetition of these sentences and when reading the additional information aloud.
  • Look all around each 360 scene, taking everything in and clicking the (i) symbols for more information about the place you're exploring.
  • Use the speech recognition to practise your pronunciation as you read the information points aloud.
  • Use the online materials here in this course for additional speaking and reading practise.

Video Trips are narrated in Spanish. We advise that:

  • Beginner/lower intermediate students watch the Trips in VR with English and Spanish subtitles on and speech recognition enabled. You can still enjoy the tours and use them for listening and speaking practise, even if the Spanish is still a bit tricky for you. However, the accompanying online activities may be a bit advanced at this stage.
  • Intermediate/advanced students watch the Trips in VR without subtitles but with speech recognition. You can then complete all of the additional activities in this online course, and re-watch the Trip to gain a deeper understanding, once you've studied the content in more detail.

For video Trips, the "More Speaking Activities" sections of the online course contain video questions which Oculus users can also find in the VR app, under "Additional Questions". We suggest you practise answering these outside the headset first, and then use the speech recognition in the app to perfect your pronunciation.

NOTE: Speech recognition is not available for Mobile VR users.

Each Trip is accompanied by a transcript and some have additional speaking, listening, reading and grammar activities, all of which can be found in this online course.
