How to Install and Use the App - Headset Users

NOTE: We will email you the app - please check your junk/spam. If it has not arrived within 12 hours, please email us stating which headset you have.

Oculus Headsets

Below is a short video showing you how to install the app onto your Oculus headset. We have used the Oculus Quest to demonstrate the process, but it's very similar for the Oculus Go and Rift as well.

  • Oculus Quest users will access the 360 video and gallery Trips through our Demo VR app on App Lab. You can find out how to use the VR app, including our AI speech recognition and other features, in the video below.
  • Oculus Go users will access the Demo app via SideQuest. Find out how to use SideQuest here.
  • Mobile VR users will be given access to the 360 video Trips via the Vimeo app. The 360 video Vimeo links and gallery trips are available in these online modules.
  • PCVR users (Rift, Vive, etc) will receive a separate email within 24 hours of signing up, giving them access to the VR app. Apologies for this delay to our PCVR friends.
  • All users will be able to access the Trips in this online course, for use on mobile, desktop, or tablet. Further instructions for using VR and Dynamic Spanish can be found here.
  • Paid users who have upgraded to unlock all the Trips will be sent a separate email with a unique code to access even more Trips.

Mobile VR Headsets

Dynamic Spanish is available on Vimeo as 360 videos. These videos do not have speech recognition and other features of Dynamic Spanish are more limited as well.

Setup on your smartphone device:

  • Install the Vimeo app (available on iOS and Android).
  • Check your device compatibility by watching this clip from La Feria de Abril, an intermediate level Trip about a famous Spanish dance festival.
  • Consider purchasing a Mobile VR headset such as the Desktek. Google Cardboard is the cheapest option but is the least comfortable.

Things to Remember When in VR

Sit somewhere comfortable but make sure you have space to stand up.

Try to be alone when you do the lessons. You'll feel more confident.

Speak when spoken to. Even if you get it wrong, it's better to try and fail than not try at all.

Pause and rewind the videos if you need to. You should go at the pace that suits you. The video below guides you through the app and the controls you'll need to participate in the lessons.

Stand up when instructed. You need to fully engage with these lessons to really get the most out of them.

Have fun! This should be an enjoyable learning experience so try not to get too frustrated if you're struggling. Follow our advice and you'll be speaking Spanish in no time.
