Which VR headset?
Dynamic Spanish is best used with the Oculus Quest 2 headsets.
Dynamic Spanish also works with the Oculus Go & Rift but these were sadly "sunsetted" by Oculus. Dynamic Spanish continues to function on these older headsets but we are no longer providing app access to these headsets.
Dynamic Spanish also works with Mobile VR headsets, such as the Samsung Gear, or simply on your smartphone. Setup instructions are below.
How do I set up Dynamic Spanish?
Oculus Quest, Quest 2, and Go
Install the Dynamic Spanish Demo VR app using Oculus App Lab or SideQuest. If you're new to SideQuest then our tutorial here will help. The full app will provide you keys to the unlocked app.
Oculus Rift
Dynamic Spanish is not available for the Oculus Rift.
Mobile (Cellphone) VR Device
Dynamic Spanish is available on Vimeo as 360 videos. These videos do not have speech recognition, and other features of Dynamic Spanish are more limited as well.
Before you purchase Dynamic Spanish for Mobile VR, please do the following:
- Install the Vimeo app (available on iOS and Android). Note: Mobile VR only works with some Android devices and not on iOS.
- Check your device compatibility by watching this clip from La Feria de Abril, a guided Trip around a famous Spanish dance festival.

You can buy a phone-compatible headset for as little as $10 or get a more comfortable ~$30 headset from Amazon.
The best way to learn in VR
Sit somewhere comfortable but make sure you have space to stand up.
Try to be alone when you use the Dynamic Spanish app. You'll feel more confident speaking.
Speak when spoken to. Even if you get it wrong, it's better to try and fail than not try at all.
Pause and rewind the videos if you need to. You should go at the pace that suits you.
Sit on a swivel desk chair to look around and be fully immersed in the experience.
